The International Labour Organization (ILO) advances opportunities for women and men to obtain decent and productive work in conditions of freedom, equity, security and human dignity. The office promotes rights at work, encourages decent employment opportunities, enhances social protection and strengthens dialogue in handling work-related issues.

To perform its role and enable better understanding of the world of work, the ILO requires timely and focused information on the labour market as well as on the economy in general. The appropriate use of available statistics for comprehensive analysis is essential to formulate effective labor and employment policies and programmes. This is particularly important in the Philippines, where President Aquino has emphasized his administration’s goal of fostering an environment that will create decent jobs for Filipinos. Meanwhile, the United Nations Country Team has initiated preparations and consultations towards a new UN Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF). The ILO and its social partners need to be equipped to participate fully in these processes.

The Manila office invites applicants for a six month paid internship to assist in the web database development area.
