History

Organized in the summer 1990, ASTRA initially engaged in real estate development, construction and building management, and consulting services focused on regional development. Among its milestones were the conceptualization, packaging and construction of the Rembrandt Hotel in Quezon City; the setting up of a meat processing plant; and the development of television media support to help market products of regional producers.

In 1999, ASTRA was approached by Enter Tech Corporation of Korea to market and distribute an innovative product, the Magic Sing Videoke Microphone. The Korean businessmen were convinced that ASTRA had the ingredients of competencies, reach and influence needed to achieve the mutual benefits desired by both entities.

To provide focus for the distribution business involved, ASTRA organized Stern Bravo Trading Corporation (SBTC). The Magic Sing videoke microphone business thrived and grew beyond expectations, with sales far exceeding the minimum established with the Korean partners. While the Asian crisis resulted in a decreased tempo of most businessess, including other ASTRA operations, sales of the microphone were not dampene but continued to soar.

In 2003, for various practical considerations, ASTRA and its partners agreed, in consultation with Enter Tech, to dissolve SBTC and restructure the distribution agreement. As part of the restructuring, ASTRA directly assumed exclusive distributorship of the Magic Sing videoke microphones and its allied products. This signalled ASTRA’s assumption of the responsibilities for the trading operations in addition to the consulting and strategic management services within the ASTRA family of corporations.

Today, ASTRA’s market develoment thrusts and nationwide marketing network continues to reconfigure the karaoke entertainment situation in the country, rendering invaluable assistance nd support to Filipino artists and the local music industry.

ASTRA prides itself in its unsullied track record of positive dealership relations, excellent delivery on its after-sales commitments, and responsive logistical support system. Dealers have expressed their high regard for its incentive and support systems for their timeliness, effectiveness and efficiency.

ASTRA has also continued to maintain its strong synergy with Enter Tech based on a firm, scrupulous adherence both to the explicit terms of its agreements and the unwritten obligations of fair play and the pursuit of mutually supportive business relationships.
