KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health, Engineering or related discipline preferred 

Experience: Minimum 8 years large scale commercial, government, or industrial project management experience, including at least 4 years management level safety profession experience 

Communication Skills: Excellent (a confident presenter, articulates ideas clearly and answers questions directly in both small and large group settings. Delivers messages with personal energy, enthusiasm and conviction Use appealing and persuasive argument)

  • At least 30/45
  • Safety Practitioner, Current certifications in First Aid, CPR, OSHA, 30-hour COSH/BOSH Training plus familiarity with Safety and Environmental laws.
  • Experience as Managing Head and PCO of DENR and LLDA is highly advantage
  • Has an extensive knowledge in securing Safety and Environmental permits
  • Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The EHS Manager is responsible for developing and implementing health, environment and safety plans, enforcing policies, and evaluating practices and facilities to ensure compliance with legal guidelines. They conduct training sessions, monitor compliance, investigate accidents, and provide recommendations for improvement. They also communicate guidelines to employees, report on health, environment and safety issues, and develop relevant policies to maintain a safe workplace. Their focus is on promoting occupational health and safety and minimizing risks for employees.

  • Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines
  • Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety
  • Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law
  • Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
  • Monitor compliance to policies and laws by inspecting employees and operations
  • Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions
  • Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claims
  • Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
  • Report on health and safety awareness, issues and statistics
  • Monitor the removal of biological, physical or chemical hazards from a workplace
  • Provide safety training for employees on policies, regulations and procedures
  • Advise the company’s administrative team on safety issues and compliance in specific projects and operations
  • Inspect and verify company compliance with relevant Health, Environment and Safety regulations
  • Maintain accurate and current records in accordance with guidelines
  • Analyze incident reports, metrics and injury case studies in order to institute changes that lead to a safer environment
  • Conducts safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective action, and implement follow up assessments.
  • Plans, implements, and conducts preventative care, safety, and compliance training programs.
  • Plans, implements, manages, and maintains comprehensive environmental safety & health programs on premises or at project site locations.
  • Provides project management team with guidance on health and safety and confirm project site fulfills industry, local, state, and federal guidelines and regulations.
  • Collaborates with management to develop an Emergency Action Plan and serve as primary contact for site injury and incident notification, investigation, and case management.
  • Maintains a written log of safety inspection activities, reports, and correspondence.
  • Guarantees that all work is performed in accordance with approved manuals, internal policies and procedures, contract documents, and good engineering practices.
  • Provides technical support to project managers.
  • Develops and maintains project cost/change controls, and project budget and accounting records.
  • Coordinates and monitors schedule updates, invoices, and submittals.
  • Reports the status of projects to business and market leaders.
  • Participates in team meetings and provides regular on-site project presence.
