Key Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE

This position is responsible for developing and reviewing financial reports, for performing detailed analysis of grants financial information and using the information to identify potential risks. This position will coordinate with various teams in global center, support offices, field and regional offices to deliver accurate and complete grant analysis and reporting. This position will also be responsible for automating financial and compliance reports of Global Grants and Programme Finance to increase the accuracy, efficiency and productivity of the team.

This position will perform other tasks related to grants analysis, compliance monitoring and risk management and is therefore, expected to apply technical and financial skills to review and interpret data, and grants policies and standards. 

MAJOR REPONSIBILITIES

1. Design and develop automated reporting and analysis templates for grants financial and compliance reports. This includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Donor report template

  • Grants financial reports – burn rates, cost recovery, global fund, etc.

  • Compliance reports – labour distribution report analysis, screening, audit

2. Continuously improve the analysis tools templates to enable accurate and efficient reporting and analysis of grants information.

3. Prepare and analyze the financial reports for various stakeholders; includes but not limited to:

  • burn rate

  • quarterly grant reports for GAM

  • GFS Scorecards

  • Compliance and Risk Management reports

  • Grant support cost variance

4. Monitor and track implementation of grant audit findings and recommendations; and provide report of key trends to be followed up with offices.

5. Continue to support and provide guidance to Disaster Mgt. Team for data related inquiries, feedback and validation.

6. Contribute to all other tasks, projects or working groups as may be assigned by the managers and leaders; or as need arise due to stakeholders’ needs.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE

1. Minimum 4-6 years of experience preferably in an international NGO environment, multilateral organization or an international audit/accounting environment
2. At least 2 years of working experience with grants accounting and analysis
3. Minimum 6 months – 1year experience working or supporting people off-shore
4. Has experience in working with people from different levels and functions in the organization
5. Has extensive experience in preparing and analyzing accounting and financial reports for internal and external clients

6. University degree in business, finance or accountancy
7. Has extensive knowledge and experience in all areas of finance and accounting
8. Advanced computer literacy skills, MS Office Suite, finance systems, especially in MS Excel
9. Able to effectively communicate with all levels in the organization

10. Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred:

1. CPA preferred but not required
2. Technical/IT training experience
3. MS Access and MS SharePoint skills and knowledge
4. PowerPivot and PowerBI skills and knowledge
5. Skilled in preparing complex financial management reports on a timely basis
