About the position:

We are looking for an experienced People and Talent Manager who will oversee our Americares Philippines People and Talent vision and work, while aligning with the global people and talent strategy and standards. The position will implement best practices for change management, people operations (performance evaluation, compliance, benefits, contracts, staff manual, offboarding), talent acquisition/retention/management/onboarding, and work community (duty of care, inclusion, well-being, team activities, employee relations, etc.).

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Lead the recruitment process for staff and other positions as required, including advertisement, job descriptions, resume short-listing, inclusive hiring processes, and offers
  • Coordinate the onboarding process for new staff, including benefits, policy and handbook overviews, and orientation to the team; coordinate the offboarding of departing employees
  • Lead change management for a growing, diverse, and dynamic team
  • Develop and lead training and other resources for manager development, professional training, and career growth development
  • Partner with the global People and Talent team in communicating, training, and developing the organization values and intentional culture in the Philippines
  • Implement and socialize Americares staff performance system, policies and processes in a timely fashion
  • Collect, analyze and act on people data to improve retention, engagement, inclusion, and growth
  • Provide employee relations support, lead investigations, when necessary, with knowledge of local employee rights, and determine disciplinary action if appropriate
  • Work with the Finance staff to collect necessary payroll paperwork
  • Support the Country Director to monitor and coordinate compliance activities
  • Liaise with the HQ People and Talent team as well as People and Talent staff in other locations to participate in communities of practice and connect Philippines People and Talent work with the global organization
  • Oversee Philippines People and Talent work with a focus on partnering with each department/location in the Philippines to evaluate and enhance diversity, equity and inclusion in their work and teams
  • Organize strategies, initiatives, and activities that promote well-being and community in the workplace (team building, community outreach, all-staff gatherings, etc.)
  • Advise and train people managers and country leadership on local labor laws, best practices, market standards, and global strategy for People and Talent
  • Update and maintain digital and physical employee records in compliance with local labor laws and best practices
  • Source, coordinate, and liaison with vendors and the government to provide quality benefits and services to staff (for example, HMO, SS, PhilHealth, Pag-ibig Fund)
  • Additional People and Talent responsibilities to create, maintain, and enhance the entire life cycle of people experience, including providing

We’d love to hear from you if … 

You have at least 5 years of directly related experience implementing People and Talent work (preferably in a humanitarian organization)

You have a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

You have demonstrated experience implementing change management practices and supporting the development of a healthy workplace culture

You have demonstrated experience with talent management, particularly with support for new managers

You have an understanding of and are updated in local compliance norms, labor laws, and market analysis

You are proactive and solution-oriented

You have demonstrated impeccable judgment

You have an excellent use of innovative technology to support and document People and Talent work within a global context

You have Philippines work authorization already in place

You can communicate fluently in English and Tagalog
